Class Descrip­tion
A six-​week intro­duc­tion to the ‘Three Pil­lars of Act­ing: Story, Emo­tion, and Focus’ and to The Actor’s Foundry’s ‘CORE-​Applied Pro­fes­sional Process.’ This class fol­lows the same for­mat and is the pre­req­ui­site to Professional’s Foundry. Two extra weeks are pro­vided to allow extra time for deeper explo­ration of The Craft, and your instrument.

  • Week One: Scene Analy­sis: the rules of Story and Story Struc­ture are applied to your scenes
  • Week Two: Rehearsal: Unblock­ing the Actor, Focal Analysis
  • Week Three: Emo­tional Prepa­ra­tion: Ground­ing the Scene
  • Week Four: Rehearsal: Block­ing the Scene
  • Week Five: Per­for­mances filmed and reviewed with rehearsal notes
  • Week Six: Final per­for­mances filmed, actors’ go-​forward notes provided
