In Addition to having a very successful and extremely busy casting business of their own, Jason Knight and partner John Buchan operate as head of casting for CBC. You know when they say ‘it’s gone to network’? That’s them. Jason is one of Canada’s busiest Casting Directors, and we are thrilled to have been able to find a day in his schedule to work with him.

Class Description
This is your chance to make a personal impression with Casting. This format will get you in the room with all the pressure of a real room audition setting. Our format allows you and your reader to spend a total of 20 – 30 minutes in the room with just Casting, Matthew, and the Camera Person. You gain an unparalleled first-hand sense of how each casting director works and what he/she wants to see in their room. Insight gained would normally take 6 – 10 auditions with that Casting Director.

Sides are cast in advance of the workshop, and you will be coached by one of Canada’s top coaches to get your best out in front of the people that need to see it.

Part one: Friday, Feb 17th 11am-4pm Coach your audition with notes and adjustments specific to you so that you set yourself up to shine in your read.

Part two Friday, Feb 17th 4pm-8pm
Showcase your acting chops in a full one-on-one audition setting for the Casting Director in a true to life audition format. Get personal notes and direction in the room. After auditions are concluded, there is and intimate Q & A for the entire group. Finally, Matthew will provide you with ‘the teacher’s translation’ to reinforce your understanding of what you need to work at for your auditions going forward.
