The TELEVISION SERIES Workshop for the Professional Vancouver Actor.

Empower yourself by comprehensively dissecting and examining all the different shows currently filmed locally. You’ll analyze the story, style, flavor of every show in town AND you will learn the specific process behind adjusting to the style.
Know the show, do your job, book the work.
Day 1- Friday, March 23, 3pm-7pm
Get to the heart of how to productively explore the genre, themes and style, taking into account the network, the audience, the shooting style, and the people involved (producers, casting, directors…). Learn a specific process for quantifying stylistic adjustments and approaching the work with absolute confidence, freeing you from intellectually-imposed ‘choice’ into organic in the moment discoveries that are rooted in the heart of the work.
Day 2 Saturday, March 24th OR Sunday, March 25th, 9am-6pm
Get the show on the road. Apply what you learned in day one, get on your feet and work one of the styles of the shows currently shooting in the city. Materials are pulled from actual cast roles – you’ll get up and work your scene out, then you’ll be coached through the style adjustment for that specific show.
As each scene is worked, the background, and imperative details of each show’s plot, history, overriding arcs, and information will be reviewed. Record your notes in your “Primer Handbook”. You’ll take this book with you at the end of the workshop, and it will be your go-to quick reference guide for EVERY SHOW shooting in Vancouver this season.
By the end of this workshop: you should be very clear on what styles are available in town, and where your personal style fits best. Cross reference this with your brand/category as an actor, and you are armed with a very specific actionable plan to approach the coming busy spring season!
